As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as SVP, Surveillance, GBM Regulatory Compliance .

Principal responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and support over transaction and surveillance framework, including the design, enhancement and implementation aspects
  • Assist in identify regulatory compliance risks and performing compliance risk assessments
  • Monitor regulatory change developments and potential impact of regulatory change on the Business in Singapore in terms of surveillance
  • Perform and support conduct risk assessments
  • Assist in providing training to create compliance awareness including on thematic issues
  • Reviews and assist in carrying out the effective deployment of the Regulatory Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Provide compliance advise on surveillance matters
  • Review new product approvals and any new business initiatives by Global Markets.
  • Assist to maintain regulatory relationships
  • Interact with Regulators and industry bodies in Singapore, on Regulatory Compliance matters

  • Have good working knowledge of trade and communication surveillance as well as regulations
  • Must be analytical and have a good eye for detail.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Able to work both as a team player as well as independently
