TEAM AND ROLE
Filling this role means you instantly become part of STX' global expansion. Working from our brand-new office location in Sydney, you'll have immediate and meaningful impact on our Australian activities. You'll be part of a lean, dynamic and internationally integrated trading team.
We are looking for an energetic candidate to join the team as a Sales and Origination Specialist focusing on the Australian environmental commodities market. You'll be responsible for developing client relationships, identifying and executing structured transactions, and driving commercial growth in both voluntary and compliance markets. You'll play an important role in driving the business forward by constantly engaging with prospective counterparties to fully grasp their needs and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. The role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels, as well as to companies from various industries and markets. By working strategically to offer counterparties sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify, structure, and execute innovative commercial and trading solutions tailored to counterparties' needs
• Expand our existing customer portfolio by identifying and following up on new leads
• Identify sourcing and trading strategies for the Australian renewable energy markets
• Focus on our Corporate Demand activities
• Execute transactions in various Australian Environmental Commodities Products
• Pro-actively analyze data and conduct research on the Australian environmental commodities markets (supply-demand drivers, regulatory frameworks, ...) in co-operation with the team's Trading Analyst
• Support market development initiatives and represent STX in Australia's renewable energy markets
• Acting as a trusted advisor and main point of contact to new and existing counterparties
• Build strong relationships with key counterparties
KEY REQUIREMENTS
• +5 years of working experience within a sales, trading, business development or account management role in Australia / Singapore
• Exposure to the Australian Energy Markets including exposure to utilities, renewables, carbon and (or) energy efficiency
• Bachelor's degree (or higher)
• Essential commercial and entrepreneurial attitude
• Analytical and strategic thinking
• Attentive and empathetic approach
• Collaborative work style
• Understanding of financial products (e.g. options, forwards, ...)
• Eligible to work in NSW, Australia
