As a member of ACRA's PMD team, these individual reviews the quality of firm-wide controls with respect to the requirements of SSQC1. This individual also works on various initiatives and staff the RO/CO is relevant programmes to promote audit quality. This helps contribute to strong public confidence in audit and financial reporting in Singapore, in line with ACRA's corporate goal to be a respected corporate and accounting regulator.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in firm-level reviews in assessing the firm's compliance with SSQC1 requirements
    • Perform reviews on public accounting firms to ensure adherence to each element within SSQC1. Identify any non-compliance areas / recommendations to enhance the firm's quality controls and communicate with relevant parties as to the identified deficiencies / areas of improvements.
    • Share best practices with the firms within the profession to enhance the level of audit quality
    • Draft finding reports and present findings to the public accounting firm's leadership team in closing meetings
  • Participate in the review of policies and projects relating to enhancing / upheld the standard of audit quality
    • Prepare technical guidance to highlight current or emerging issues that may have a bearing on the conduct of audits by public accountants
    • Involved in the standard-setting process and review of auditing and relevant standards
    • Perform compliance checks on public accountants to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
    • Participate in various projects to help improve the quality of audit

Requirements
  • Professional Qualification / Certification preferably in Accounting
  • At least 6 years of external audit experience in a public accounting firm
  • Familiar with Singapore Standard on Quality Control 1 and Singapore Standards on Auditing
  • Strong analytical skills to distil all available facts and bring to focus discussions on key issues
  • Good knowledge of the various requirement / provisions of professional standards / regulations
  • Excellence stakeholder management and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and as a team player
