Performs an advisory Line 1 Risk Management role Incident Management and Testings Vendor Management and Supplier Risk Management

My client, a global bank with growing presence in the region, is enhancing their existing team of Risk Management specialists across the organization and is looking for an experienced Business Risk & Controls professional to join their team as a Senior Manager for the region (mainly covering Singapore and East Asia). Aside from performing a Line 1 Risk Management function in business risk and operational risk, the successful candidate will take on responsibilities as the Subject Matter Expert for topics such as Supplier Risk Management etc for the region. This role reports to the Regional Head of Business Risk (Asia).

Responsibilities of the role include:

Driving and strengthening the risk management culture within the bank
Work alongside the business stakeholders to understand the operational risks and embed effective controls.
The role will involve interaction across all business areas of Institutional Banking and collaboration with Line 2 risk management, Line 3 audit and relevant external parties.
Provide commercial and pragmatic advice on policy, procedure, governance and risk management issues.
Reporting of risk activities including risk governance forums, and ensure country management have appropriate and timely reporting on risk to facilitate effective management.
Drive proactive identification, mitigation and monitoring of risk items ensuring risks are managed within appetite. Assess issues in the broader context.
Perform operational risk testing on controls in the business.
Produce regular management information to inform senior management on operational risk and control framework.
Experience required:

A sound understanding of the Institutional Banking/Corporate Banking environment and associated products in Markets.
Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements and Internal Controls/Policies.
Ability to analyse trends, identify critical threats and opportunities, diagnose problems and issues and then recommend appropriate actions dealing with the underlying root causes.
Strong stakeholder management skills
