The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Define the technology target state for all things that interact with our Consumer, Private and Business banking customers and the staff that support them whether it be with the API and digital channels through to how we integrate, use data effectively and master it in our core banking or other systems of record.
  • Contribute to development and management of architecture processes and practices including governance across all architecture disciplines.
  • Defining end to end architecture for one or more initiatives with CPBB that enables our business, improves scalability and resiliency, and drives implementation efficiency. Also ensuring that solutions are aligned with enterprise, business and technology direction
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders to come up with architecture and patterns to achieve application and data security.
  • Able to guide the conversation with our business and delivery teams from ideation through to deployment in order to ensure a rich, effective experience for our clients.
Business

  • For the assigned domains, translate business strategy into an executable roadmap utilizing a traceable capability assessment framework. Perform architecture impact assessment during the concept ideation and business case development to ensure minimum architecture requirements are considered and included in business case.
  • Being trusted advisor, providing guidance and direction on modern architecture and solutions.
  • Improve cost efficiency - drive efficiency by identifying opportunities to rationalise to a fewer best of tools which provides strategic capability and aggressively decommission redundant tools.
  • Drive and enable cloud adoption and modernisation of technology landscape.
  • Drive increased automation
  • Supporting Tech delivery to ensure the strategy is realised.
Processes

  • Contribute to development and management of architecture processes and practices including governance across all architecture disciplines.
  • Increase Engineering efficiency by creating reusable architecture/design artefacts like patterns, implementations, source code, templates.
Governance
  • Defining and operating architectural governance in a manner that involves conversation, feedback and interaction and promotes faster delivery and sustainable outcomes.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor degree with 12+ years of overall experience
  • Experience within a financial services institution with recent experience in shaping and architecting world class platforms
  • At least 5 years of experience in any Senior Architecture roles; i.e. Business Architect, Enterprise Architect, Platform/Portfolio architect and/or large-scale transformation Program Architect roles
  • Certification in security architecture would be a plus.
