About the role

As part of ANZ Market Surveillance Team, the Market Surveillance Analyst’s purpose is to design, build and operate the tools and to manage processes which given ANZ the highest probability of market misconduct detection.

As a Surveillance Analyst, you will assist the Markets Risk function in investigating and escalating suspicious trading activity and communications. The role will be part of an extended team of surveillance analysts performing a similar function across ANZ’s key sales and trading hubs in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, London and Manila to ensure ANZ meets regulatory obligations and internal business policies.

Your responsibility is to ensure that communication and trading controls are actioned within the SLA time frame. You will be assisting in the investigation process into potential market misconduct findings.

You will also work with the Markets Compliance and Business Governance to improve the Markets control environment. You will be responsible in providing solutions on trade scenario improvements and process enhancements. You will also have to package and present management information for periodic review and responding to regulatory requests.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following -
  • Strong understanding of Financial Markets products, Market misconduct and Global Regulatory Obligations.
  • Experience in a control room function, Trade Surveillance, Markets Compliance or Middle Office role.
  • A mature approach to working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Happy to work independently within a global team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
