Description:
The individual selected for this position will be a member of the OPICS Application Development team located in Singapore. This individual will have the responsibilities to work together with business users and various stakeholders in NA, EMEA, and APAC, and to translate business needs into actual implementation through analysis and collaboration. In addition, he or she will also be supporting the businesses' front-to-back offices around the world as an application SME.

In addition to in depth experiences in fixed-income, a successful candidate will be a team-player, have a go-get-it attitude, equip with great communication and problem solving skills, stay focused under stressful situations, and be able to create close partnership between the technology and business communities globally.

OPICS:
The OPICS application suite consists of a complete risk management system comprised of trade capture, pricing, profit and loss, reference data, market data, accounting, settlements, corporate reporting and position management. The systems support a wide range of complex fixed income and derivative instruments and trading strategies including: money market instruments; mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities; government, municipal and corporate bonds; interest rate derivatives; exchange traded futures and options; and OTC options.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze, define, and document business requirements driven by internal (business, audit, corporate) or external (markets, regulatory) initiatives; structure, plan, and coordinate stakeholders across multiple functions and regions
  • Provide end-user support by supplying product, process and technical solutions to resolve and/or enhance user application functions.
  • Efficiently design and implement solutions in line with our architectural standards; support testing, conversion, and ensuring accurate source code promotion, tracking and compliance with applicable corporate policies and regulatory (SOX) standards
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of the operating environment to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Engage and partner with external software vendor for escalation, tracking, and resolution of application break/fix issues.
  • Plan and execute software integration and regression testing on application patches, upgrades and enhancements.
  • Support a high-availability production environment during critical processing time periods and ensure the production environment meets the firm's requirements for disaster recovery.
  • Provide extensive hands-on training to other members of the global team and assist in building a robust development and support model.

Qualifications

Knowledge:
  • Domain knowledge on Accounting, Cash management, and SWIFT systems
  • Product knowledge in Fixed-income (Bonds and Money Market)
  • Sybase/SQL programming/optimizing experiences
  • Familiarity with Task Scheduler, Source Control, Scripting, Unix/Linux
  • Familiar with software development lifecycle methodologies
  • Prior experience with Treasury systems / OPICS Application is a plus

Soft-skills:
  • Proven track record to work effectively with virtual teams across geographies / NY-SG time-zones
  • Effective organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple work streams and processes under tight deadlines
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to structure and scope complex problems; the candidate must be self-starting and independent in managing their own delivery.
  • Ability to assimilate broad-ranging information quickly and to concise into key points
  • Exceptional problem solving skills and attention to details
  • Aptitude / Track record of continuous learning
  • Excellent oral and written executive-level communication and presentation skills in English
