Trainee - Trading Services

IG Asia is seeking for a Trading Services Trainee

Job Responsibilities:


Providing telephone trade execution for our client base. Key skills in performing this role to a satisfactory standard include attention to detail and accuracy, efficiency of execution and knowledge of market mechanics.

Full training will be given to the graduate entrant Client Services employee to enable them to pass the “bet test” which must be passed within 2 attempts. Ongoing training once the test has been passed will be provided “on the job” and will involve close liaison with other colleagues and monitoring of telephone calls and emails by line manager / supervisor.

Client Services:

Understanding and responding to a wide range of client queries either by email or telephone. Queries can range from specific questions on market information to queries on statements, payments and technical support. Investigating client disputes is an important part of this role and may involve listening to phone calls, analysing internet trading logs and liaising with the Trading Desks to obtain market data. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the content within our online ‘Help’ section.

Trade Support:

Conducting audit checks to ensure that trades are executed at the correct levels, as well as contacting clients when markets are approaching their expiry. Will also be responsible for operating the close out monitor, liquidating client positions when margin is due.


Full training will be provided in every aspect of financial dealing, account management and client support. The probationary period will be closely monitored and will involve a proficiency test. Initial learning will involve one on one classroom based training with our in-house training co-ordinator, and will involve a period of time shadowing an experienced member of the Trading Services team. Ongoing training will be provided after the bet test has been passed and as the role progresses. Experienced team members will be encouraged to train / mentor less experienced colleagues.



6 months experience working in a client facing, administrative role (this could be gained either through a “gap year” or as part of a student part-time role)

A keen, demonstrable interest in, and understanding of, financial markets


Experience of working within a financial environment, especially in a client facing role



Educated to Degree level



Self-starting, enthusiastic team-player who will be willing and able to help colleagues at peak-times ; very organised / pro-active individual who has the ability to remain calm and measured; very articulate / excellent communication skills; deadline / detail / delivery conscious, flexible to changing priorities and able to work at a consistently high standard

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

A logical and analytical approach; high level of numeracy

Computer literate in Microsoft Office

Fluency in Mandarin (Chinese)
