Job Description - For the Senior Middle Office Position
Deal execution
  • Manage the end to end operational process for CTF transactions, including structuring, reviewing and approving transactions, and manage interactions with internal departments and external parties, including clients, to ensure effective delivery within target turnaround times in a cost effective manner
  • Reduce bottleneck in processing with a strong focus on Turn Around Time (TAT)
  • Act as an intermediary between the processing units and Citibank Securities and Investigation Services (CSIS) & Compliance teams for sanctions, compliance, money laundering and anti fraud related issues
  • Escalate issues for quicker resolution
Risks and Controls
  • Monitor CTF transactional financing exposures and collateral values and tenors to ensure sufficient collateral is in place at all times to satisfy the requirements of Citibank policies and procedures, using a specialized technology system
  • Assist with the establishment and operational readiness of the specialized Commodity Trade Finance transaction tracking and collateral monitoring technology system
  • Formulating, implementing and adherence of Middle Office process, policies and procedures and governance
  • Ensure strong focus on Risk and Control in transaction processing in terms of having appropriate customer documentation, accurate discrepancy notices are sent out and proactive identification of refusals
  • Map and re-engineer operational processes on an ongoing basis to meet client requirements and best market practice whilst adhering to Citibank's policies and procedures
  • Act as a single point of contact to stakeholders on document scrutiny and discrepant management for the clients assigned
  • Build relationships with Trade units worldwide and other Trade advisory units to develop and maintain global standards and practices within Citibank
  • Train staff and provide an advisory role to Citibank branches on Commodity Trade Finance technical matters, such as ICC rules and opinions
