As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as VP, Regulatory Compliance Monitoring and Testing.

Principal responsibilities

  • ​To test the adequacy of controls in place within the business and to identify potential and actual breaches.
  • To escalate regulatory breaches to business and Senior Management in order that appropriate action can be undertaken to rectify.
  • To conduct Compliance Risk Assessment process for business lines on an ongoing basis and obtain business sign off.
  • To produce, deliver and complete compliance monitoring plan to include continuous, periodic and themed reviews.
  • Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
  • Ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings.
  • To work in a methodical manner.
  • Excellent analytical skills.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • ​Significant compliance or possibly relevant audit, risk experience.
  • Knowledge of key current regulatory change initiatives and their impacts on the business.
  • An excellent understanding of the regulatory environment and expectations, interpretation of guidances together with and other relevant regulations, codes
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both Compliance and Business Senior Management.
  • Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
  • Ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within teams and to deliver on time.
