FX Sales to Spain and Portugal Corporates
Our client is leading global bank based in Madrid with a strong presence in the FX, Rates & Commodities market. As part of their growth plans, they would like to make a strategic investment hire covering large cap Spanish-speaking corporates with a specialisation in FX products, although they will be part of a small but talented cross asset corporate sales team. The bank has a track record of already lending to Spanish speaking corporates and as such the role will be leveraging these relationships to generate hedging revenue. In addition, they will have the opportunity to cover other European countries and products.
The ideal person will have at least 6 years' experience in an FX sales role covering Iberian corporates role at a well-known institution either in London or Spain. They will have a strong FX product understanding and a solid grounding in FX derivatives and will have developed good client relationships at FD / CFO / Treasurer level. The person will have an excellent understanding of the needs of a corporate and their risk advisory need and will have a strong understanding in financial analysis, FX exposure, treasury management issues and providing currency hedging solutions. In terms of products, the person will understand FX pricing of forwards, swaps and exotics and have a strong understanding of risk issues, e.g. CVA, CVAR, RWA etc. They will be used to maximising profit by providing clients with new product proposals and market updates and translating these into profitable trades as well as identifying and evaluating potential business opportunities and implementing selling strategies designed to gain that business.
The individual will form a part of a cross asset European corporate sales team and will have exposure to Rates and Commodities products as well as FX. The person will be able to work closely with Structuring and Risk Solutions teams to deliver tailor-made solutions to clients, and develop strong relationships with corporate banking in order to identify business opportunities in both G10 and EM. They will work as part of a friendly and collegiate European corporate coverage team as this business expands and be expected to contribute to the overall success of the team. They will be intelligent, a good networker, high energy and diligent and have a proactive and business-building approach.
This position is based in Madrid and the person will need to be a native Spanish speaker who is eligible to work in the EU.
