The Accounting Associate will sit within the Zurich Global Employee Benefits Solutions (ZGEBS) finance team and will be reporting into the head of Finance Accounting & Reporting (FAR) for ZGEBS.


ZGEBS is a business unit being part of commercial insurance within Zurich Insurance Group. The core business is offering international employee benefits risk solutions for multinationals through pooling, captives and international programs solutions. As companies continue to increase globalization and centralization, they are looking to work with insurers to provide global solutions for their employee benefit plans around the work that fit their needs. Customers also look for more support from insurers on meeting their compliance and data reporting needs. Distributors are also looking for new solutions in the global employee benefits area to help address their customers' growing needs.


Your Role

As an Accounting Associate your main responsibilities within the Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable environment will involve:

  • Performing collections and receivables management duties, including reconciliations for assigned accounts
  • Verifying accuracy of processed premium including reconciling outstanding balances of open positions
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure that accounting processes and procedures are followed and completed to support and reinforce key business objectives
  • Providing support for various types of general and sub-ledger transactions relevant for group accounting principles reporting
  • Preparing accounts receivable / accounts payables ledger reports and explain the results
  • Preparing accounts reconciliations for assigned accounts on timely basis in accordance with group internal control guidelines
  • Performing and updating SOX controls in line with group internal guidelines
  • Leading short-term defined accounting projects or support larger projects in the AP/AR area through planning and carrying out regular project quality reviews using standard methodologies in order to identify, assessing and taking action to mitigate risks to project success
Your Skills and Experience

As an Accounting Associate your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
  • CPA or equivalent Accounting or Finance qualification
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience in IFRS reporting and balance sheet management
  • Insights into P&C and / or Life Insurance is advantageous
  • Advanced level in Excel is required
  • Experienced SAP user
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in English, other languages are advantageous
