Our client is a global fast growing cruise tour operator. For the further expansion plan of the company we are searching for a new created Chief Operating Officer in the German speaking part of Switzerland.

  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs;
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning;
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met;
  • Ensure effective recruiting, on-boarding, professional development, performance management, and retention;
  • Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary;
  • Advise on issues, trends, changes to the operating model(s) and operating delivery and setting objectives;
  • Drive efficiencies & profitability together with executive team


  • Long term planning to achieve efficiency & profitability;
  • Assist in the formulating of the company's future direction by providing and supporting tactical initiatives;
  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans;
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction


  • Participate in key decision as part of the Executive management team;
  • Oversee the operations of subsidiary companies including foreign operations;
  • Oversee the global operations including Cruise Ship operations;
  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement;
  • Lead acquisition due diligence and negotiation acquisitions

Risk Management

  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile;
  • Monitor any legal issues involving the company and legal issues affecting the industry;


  • Master's degree in business or related field
  • Equivalent business experience with 15+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company, preferably an international company;
  • Results orientated and commercially astute, with superior communication and negotiation skills with the ability to modulate from strategic to tactical issues;
  • Strong process and planning orientation;
  • Goal orientated;
  • Must be able to think strategically and have proven analytic skills;
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity;
  • Enjoys being part of a team;
  • Very strong English written and verbal skills
  • Must have the ability to work extended hours and undertake travel, as and when business need dictate


  • Experience in a fast paced, entrepreneurial organisation;
  • Experience in Cruise Ship or international Hotel Chain;
  • Experience in Travel and Tourism
