I’m working with an established systematic investment manager looking to hire a Junior Execution Trader with 1–2 years of direct execution trading experience .
This is an early-career hire, but previous professional experience executing live orders is essential .
This is not a graduate or entry-level trading opportunity. Candidates coming purely from internships, trading support, operations, middle office or quantitative research without direct execution responsibility will not be suitable.
What they are looking for
You should have:
- 1–2 years of professional experience as an Execution Trader
- Direct responsibility for executing and monitoring live orders
- Experience working across liquid markets
- A strong understanding of liquidity, slippage, market impact and execution quality
- Experience monitoring orders, fills and live trading activity
- Good understanding of market structure
- Strong attention to detail and risk awareness
- Confidence working closely with portfolio managers, researchers or systematic trading teams
- Good quantitative and analytical ability
Some experience with Python, data analysis or execution analytics would also be valuable.
The role:-
You will work within a systematic investment environment, helping ensure trading decisions are implemented efficiently and accurately in live markets.
The role will involve areas such as:
- Live order execution and monitoring
- Managing execution across different market conditions
- Monitoring fills, liquidity and trading activity
- Analysing slippage and transaction costs
- Reviewing execution performance
- Identifying trading and implementation issues
- Working closely with the investment and research teams
- Contributing to improvements in the execution process
This would suit somebody who has already built a solid foundation as an Execution Trader and now wants greater responsibility and closer exposure to a systematic investment process .
Previous Execution Trader experience is a firm requirement.
If you have 1–2 years of direct execution trading experience and would be interested in discussing the opportunity confidentially, feel free to message me.
