Intelligence & Investigations Manager

Reporting to the Head of Financial Crime Prevention & MLRO there will be a focus on the following:

  • To identify, manage and mitigate financial crime threats for Phoenix FCA authorised firms in relation to financial crime. Work will be guided by the FCA’s principles, rules and guidance, relevant regulatory and legislative requirements, and industry guidance
  • To manage investigations developed from intelligence analysis and referral from the outsource service providers. To be the key point of contact for the business and the Outsource Service Providers in relation to any financial crime related investigation
  • To own the Phoenix Financial Crime Team Intelligence Model, including undertake analysis of internal and external data to produce an annual Financial Crime Assessment and the subsequent development of effective controls to manage those threats with the Head of Financial Crime
  • To lead the Financial Crime Analysis aspects of Group and OSP governance and oversight, ensuring that all relevant services are provided to agreed and acceptable standards
  • To act as Phoenix central point of contact for Law Enforcement Agencies, dealing with any relevant financial crime enquiries and developing the Phoenix/Law Enforcement relationship


With several years Financial Crime experience, we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a law enforcement analytical environment or similar
  • Knowledge of i2 / iBase including Analyst Notebook
  • Knowledge of the Financial Crime investigative process
  • Excellent knowledge of the application of the Proceeds of Crime Act and SAR reporting as well as Terrorism Act and Fraud Act
  • Excellent Knowledge of FCA rules and guidance on financial crime
  • Communication skills – reporting writing, presentation and verbal communication skills essential
  • Analytical and methodical with a high attention for detail.
  • Organisation skills – able to balance multiple priorities and prepare a quality product under tight deadlines
