We're recruiting for a new Head of Content Design.
This is a design leadership role where you'll help DWP Digital fully embed user-centred design in everything we do.
Our content design community was founded 7 years ago and is now made up of 75 content specialists. We're one of the most supportive and experienced content communities in government.
Our DWP Digital community is changing how people access and experience government services. We're changing how DWP works for 110,000 colleagues, and 25 million users.
It's a once-in-a-generation transformation, of extraordinary scale and purpose, and good content design is critical to making it work.
As expert, leader and ambassador for your practice, you will:
- provide strategic direction for the profession;
- promote and support the development of the community;
- work with other design leaders to raise the profile of user-centred design;
- challenge decisions and behaviour that don't reflect our user-centred ambition; and
- work with colleagues across government to define standards and best practice.

You'll be based in your choice of our digital hubs in either Blackpool, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield. We work a hybrid model with 60% home working.
In return for your skills we offer competitive salary for this role is up to £86,492 per annum, a brilliant civil service pension of 27.9% and a generous leave package of 26 days.
