A global insurance business are looking for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their Bristol or York office on a 12 month contract.

As a Corporate Tax Manager, you will be joining a multinational insurance business on a 12 month contract in either York or Bristol, depending on your preference.

You will be working as part of the corporate tax compliance team, principally dealing with tax return preparation, group reporting work, advising on transactions, and preparing tax for forecasting purposes.

This position involves time working both from home and in the office when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify the best practices and changes that can be made in the tax return and accounts tax process
  • Prepare accurate and timely tax reporting, forecasting, compliance and advisory deliverables
  • Provide support and advice on tax matters and developments impacting the business, particularly ensuring tax risk is understood and managed.
  • Ensuring tax efficiency for entities in scope, in the context of group considerations.
  • Management and completion of tax provisions and disclosures
  • Management of all aspects of the corporation tax compliance process
  • Supporting the tax compliance, reporting and advisory deliverables of Group Tax as required.
  • Management of tax input / requirements for quarterly, half-yearly and annual group reporting cycles, as well as future forecasts.

Skills & Experience required

  • Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and HMRC practice
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting (including consolidated accounts) and Solvency II reporting
  • Ability to understand impacts of new corporate tax developments
  • Ability to identify, interpret and clearly communicate key tax risk issues to non-specialists
  • Prior experience of working in a Tax Environment (Not essential but preferred)
  • Accounting and / or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIOT)
