Here’s what you’ll be doing

You will business partner the Energy Sales, Commercial and Operations channels, based across various locations. Your role will help to instil a performance culture to ensure B&CS hits financial and non-financial targets and deliver the B&CS Roadmap. Supporting in the delivery of various investment proposals, you will add in your insight and recommendation to aid senior leaders in making business decisions.

You’ll provide advanced analytical insights on performance, highlighting how your recommendations would improve results and working with the business to deliver this. Exhibiting your exemplary behaviours, you will create and promote an environment which strives for continuous improvement enabling you to coach and develop fellow team members.

You’ll have the autonomy to challenge and shape the formulation and execution of commercial strategies, optimising long term value within the strategic framework. Working closely with change & strategy you will be able to drive the commercial optimisation ensuring the delivery of the financial plan.

Building effective relationships with key stakeholders will be critical in this role, and it will assist you in becoming a valued virtual member of the B&CS Energy Sales and Commercial business units. Using clear and consistent communication skills “one version of the truth” can be delivered to key stakeholders.

What we need from you
·Must have strong business partnering experience with a proven ability to look through the numbers to see the commercial bigger picture and instigating change based upon this
·Must have a demonstrable track record of adding value within a commercially focused finance role as well as clear examples of improvement of processes, creating efficiencies and thinking outside of the box
·Must have strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to identify key issues, create clarity and insight and provide effective support and challenge to senior customers and stakeholders
·Exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to influence and work effectively across functional boundaries

It would be great if you had
·An innovative approach, driving imaginative solutions to problems and capable of challenging conventional business thinking
·Membership of a professional accounting institute (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent commercial experience
·Excellent communication, personal impact and influencing skills with the ability to interact effectively and confidently with individuals at all levels of the business
·Energy, drive, determination and enthusiasm and an ability to work to tight deadlines
