Associate Service Reliabiity Engineer

We're making a series of significant changes across the Wealth Solutions business of Prudential UK as part of our contribution to make M&G Prudential the best loved and most successful savings and investments business. These changes are part of our strategy to modernise Prudential UK so that we can regain our reputation for innovation, reduce costs and become a truly digital business.

An Associate Service Reliability Engineer partners with more senior engineers to create components that form part of a DevOps toolchain.
They are responsible for writing clean, secure code following a test driven approach. They create code that is open by default and easy for others to reuse.
They learn through active participation in the Engineering community.

Purpose statements:
DevOps Engineers;
● Transform technical requirements into DevOps processes
● Collaborate with feature and integration teams to discover and resolve common engineering blockers and impediments
● Supports live test/sandbox environments

Knowledge statements:
Essential - confident practitioner
● Has an awareness or understanding of user experience analysis and its principles. Can see the purpose of user stories and focuses on user needs
● Understands key principles of modern standards approach and how they apply to the work they are undertaking, and will apply under guidance
● Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents simple programs or scripts under the direction of others
● Able to help fix faults following agreed procedures. Carries out infrastructure maintenance task s.
● Aware of how to integrate pipelines and the challenges of designing, building and testing integrations between systems

Complementary - working knowledge
● Knows when to use a specific technical prototyping technique or method. Able to show the value of prototyping to the team

Experience statements:
● Experience working in cross functional teams
● Experience contributing to, and achieving, continuous improvement goals

Personal attribute/skills:
● Communicate effectively in order to facilitate working meetings, using techniques such as active listening and negotiation. Tailor communication style to suit both face-to-face and virtual settings including web meetings and conference calls.
