About this role

Team Overview

​Transaction Management as part of Global Investment Operations is primarily responsible for the affirmation, confirmation, reporting and settlement of all trade activities generated by BlackRock, across all locations and all instruments. The global transaction management team is approximately 115 people across multiple locations.

This is a Regulatory Reporting role which focuses on daily process and control in respect of BlackRock's global regulatory reporting obligations. The role will cover various regulations (including SFTR, EMIR , ASIC, MAS, FMIA and MIFID II ) and the successful candidate will be responsible for oversight of the completeness and quality of transactional data submitted to the Trade repository by both Blackrock and external partners.

The role will involve monitoring transmission of reports, managing and repairing rejected reports, management of data quality with external parties as well as process scalability, enhancement of controls and quality assurance.

We are seeking a candidate to enhance our team who is control focused, risk aware, impact driven and has a desire to understand and question all aspects of regulatory reporting.

Role Responsibility
  • Monitor the status of BlackRock's regulatory reporting, ensuring that BlackRock's reporting obligations are timely, accurate and complete
  • Identify and drive root cause resolution of control exceptions with the key internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct and complete daily regulatory reporting quality control checks to ensure that BlackRock's reporting obligations are complete
  • Produce accurate and meaningful metrics on BlackRock's regulatory reporting obligations to facilitate and ensure transparency across the firm on the status of BlackRock's regulatory reporting obligations
  • Partner with the portfolio compliance group, legal and compliance team and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that BlackRock meet's its regulatory obligations
  • Take on ownership and accountability for BlackRock's regulatory reporting and become the subject matter expert (SME) for this business 
  • Support the team with any required record keeping, information gathering & reporting.
  • Proactively identify and interpret changes in regulatory requirements, legislation and industry best practice that may affect the company and understand the impact these may have on the processes and control within the team in partnership with L&C
  • Complete ongoing reviews of internal reporting policies for reasonableness and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Identifying ongoing technology development requirements to improve reporting efficiency and data integrity
  • Assertive management of external stakeholder relationships as fiduciary for our clients


Experience
  • Ideally 3-5 years Investment Operations experience preferably within Trade settlement and trade confirmation roles across multiple asset classes
  • Regulatory reporting experience and knowledge preferably with EMIR & MIFID
  • Understanding of Derivative financial markets and related instruments
  • Working knowledge of sql, python or vba
  • Experience in audit and/or controls are preferred.
  • Demonstrates a risk focus and an understanding of the importance of identifying potential risks and of reporting risks to line management and other relevant parties.
  • Consistent track record of positive relationship management skills, with the ability to engage a broad network of colleagues to resolve issues.

  • Able to take ownership of the design and operating effectiveness of key controls and processes
  • Understand industry and market driven initiatives to understand risks and impacts
