You and your role
This is a great opportunity to join a thriving data practice in DWP. Data is at the heart of every digital service in DWP; we aim to use cutting-edge data science, data engineering, data management and data analysis to make services better for the millions of people using them, including some of the most vulnerable in our society.
Our data community is all about collaboration. You'll work alongside data professionals of all kinds, and with tech experts from a range of backgrounds. As a team we will make a difference
As a Data Solutions Developer you will be responsible for developing a range of data products. This will include data matching, rule development, risk based verification models, behavioural insight, data scans
You'll also be responsible for Rapid prototyping and productionised product development.
What are we looking for?
- You have strong experience of conducting complex data transformations, using data linking and manipulation techniques
- You have in-depth knowledge of exploiting data and undertaking subsequent analysis to inform business decisions
- You have worked within teams using project management methodologies e.g. waterfall/Agile
- You understand well a programming language like R, Python, SQL, NoSQL, SAS, SAS E- guide, Neo4j
- You have good experience of implementing Data Engineering and data analysis best practices
- Knowledge and understanding of. producing unit-test scripts and version control methodologies
- You have good people and analytical skills including the ability to communicate technical and non-technical information to a range of audiences
