We are looking for emerging IT Services and IT Support professionals to work with us on a once-in-a-generation digital transformation of these life changing services.

You might have experience as a service manager, on a service desk or providing 3rd line support. If you've got the skills we need, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a really exciting opportunity to join a large, supportive team of IT service managers and technical engineers.

We'll help you grow your service management skills and build your experience. While you'll work on knowledge management initially, you'll have opportunities to work across a variety of services.

Our IT Services team work across the full spectrum of DWP's core technologies supporting an organisational landscape of over 111,000 people. You won't get chance to get bored. We try to rotate our people into new opportunities every six months, and we're committed to investing in your skills.

You'll manage knowledge articles, incidents and service requests within DWP's large and compex tech environment. And you'll build and maintain relationships with our engineering teams and DWP users that help you get the job done.

You'll also have opportunity to be involved in real innovation, on a scale unlike much else out there, as you support service transitions that introduce new technologies into DWP.


What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Customer Service Management: You resolve user requests, with empathy and quality. And you use customer-focused metrics to achieve a satisfying outcome.
  • ITIL Service Management Lifecycle: You have knowledge of a service management framework (e.g. ITIL) application in complex organisations, or previous experience of IT service management principles.
  • Service Management Tooling (eg ServiceNow): You have demonstrable experience of IT Service Management tooling, especially in the management and resolution of Incidents, and of Problem Management techniques.
  • Operational Management: You understand the operational processes of running and maintaining IT products or services.
  • Incident Management: You can diagnose and prioritise incidents, investigate their causes and find/applyi resolutions.
