The core purpose of the Pricing Manager position is to develop and deliver the new business customer pricing strategy through ownership of the end to end pricing process, ensuring that our technical capabilities are continuously reviewed and refined and are at the forefront of market developments

You will need to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of statistical methodologies and pricing techniques, honed through significant experience of scoping, evaluating and delivering multiple pricing structures.

There will be frequent contact with internal stakeholders from General Insurance and across the wider Insurance Division so, in addition to your knowledge of statistical and pricing techniques, you'll need to have strong communication skills.

You'll lead a team of analysts, helping them to achieve their objectives and those of the LBG GI business. You'll share your technical expertise with the team and provide coaching in personal skills that will help with these colleagues' - and your own - development.

You'll be responsible for managing the team's deliverables, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality, such as:
*Ensuring new business pricing structures are built on sound business models, which adhere to model development and peer review standards
*Proactively managing the ongoing statistical/actuarial analysis of the commercial performance of LBG GI Household new business pricing models

You'll need to maintain an in-depth level of technical knowledge of general insurance products, market, regulatory and professional developments and market trends. Your expert knowledge will help you to propose, evaluate and present future pricing strategies to senior management. After winning approval and buy-in, you'll then be responsible for driving them through to implementation while respecting and embedding good governance around pricing.

To be successful in this position, you'll need to have a significant level of General Insurance Pricing experience and hold a FIA, FFA or ACII qualification, or be progressing towards another relevant professional qualification.

You'll need an excellent knowledge of statistical analysis tools and techniques e.g. Access, SAS, Microsoft Excel (including Visual Basic), Generalised Linear Modelling and high levels of attention to detail and accuracy demonstrated in a technical area. You'll have a knowledge and understanding of UK insurance regulations and be up to date on new developments.

You'll be self-motivated to achieve personal goals and to motivate the team in the achievement of business objectives, creating a team culture of high performance and technical excellence. You'll have experience of coordinating and delivering work as part of a team and a flexible management style appropriate for professional colleagues.

You'll have excellent communication and negotiating skills, with a particular emphasis on report writing, and be able to engage and persuade the business of the importance of the pricing perspective in key projects.
