Working under the direction of the Head of Responsible Investment, you will support the continued implementation of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives into the investment decision making process firm wide.

About the role

 

We are looking for a Responsible Investment Manager to join us.

 

Working under the direction of the Head of Responsible Investment, you will support the continued implementation of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives into the investment decision making process firm wide.

 

In the role you’ll assist in the development of Border to Coast’s engagement strategy; monitor and track engagements and engagement opportunities,  take the lead on some collaborative initiatives, and engage with management teams of our holdings on environmental, social and governance policies and practices, either directly or through collaborative initiatives.

 

In addition, you will undertake engagement and stewardship activities in accordance with our strategic priorities, provide support on external manager selection and monitoring and support the building of knowledge and capabilities across investment teams (Internal and External Equities, Fixed Income and Alternatives).

 

About you

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate an excellent understanding of ESG issues, proxy voting and responsible investment, and will have experience of working in an RI, ESG or stewardship/corporate governance role at a fund manager, broker, or engagement provider.

 

Qualified to Degree level and, ideally, with a Professional Investment or Stewardship/Corporate Governance Qualification, you will have in depth knowledge and skills in the RI/ESG/Stewardship areas of investment management, and an ongoing commitment to development.

 

Familiar with regulatory requirements, aware of emergent best practice by other asset owners and with external measures of stewardship quality, you’ll have demonstrable planning, organisation, data management and administrative capabilities.

The Investment Team manages both Internal (direct securities) and External (selecting fund managers) investment products with defined risk/return objectives on behalf of the Partner Funds across Public Equities, Fixed Income, Alternatives and Real Estate. They are supported by the Risk and Research teams who provide both qualitative and quantitative support. Ultimately Border to Coast is an investment business and its success is determined by the investment performance we generate for our Partner funds.
