A world leading, Commodity Trading House, with an established footprint in the agricultural sector is seeking an Accountant to join their Shipping Finance Department.

The Company:

A world leading, Commodity Trading House, with an established footprint in the agricultural sector is seeking an Accountant to join their Shipping Finance Department.

Primary Function:

Assisting in the timely and accurate drafting of monthly management and annual statutory accounts.

Role Responsibilities:

• Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations for review.

• Analysis of monthly balance sheet and P&L changes.

• Monthly reporting such as notional interest calculations as well as regulatory reporting.

• Assisting in daily reconciliations for interfaces from back office systems to the General Ledger.

• Assisting with the daily client money reconciliation.

Individual Attributes:

• Qualified or studying towards an accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA or CIMA).

• Knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS is essential.

• Computer literacy is a necessity and the ability to use a consolidation package such as Hyperion would be an advantage.

• An understanding of the maritime sector is preferred.

• Experience within a Commodity Trading house would be ideal.
