To support us on our journey we’re looking to hire an Accounts Payable Supervisor for our Financial Control Team.

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for the development of the Accounts Payable function, improving procedures and controls to ensure it can continue to support current needs and meet the WorldFirst’s growth plans, whilst overseeing day to day operations to ensure first class delivery. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure Accounts Payable function records expense claims, invoice processing and credit card processing accurately and makes payments on a timely basis.
  • Take the lead to ensure that the policies and procedures are maintained, to monitor compliance for the UK as well as overseas entities. This includes providing operational guidance to the Accounts Payable team for day-to-day activities such as processing payments, resolving queries and managing ongoing monthly activities.
  • To ensure that all supplier invoices are captured in the books and records, reconciled to ledgers at least monthly and are paid on time. The New Performance Reporting practices need to be implemented and adhered to.
  • Meeting financial team deadlines to include month, quarter and year-end close duties, balance sheet management and reporting requirements.
  • To communicate with all levels of the organisation about the accounts payable process
  • Lead on-going process improvement initiatives and streamlining the operations of the Accounts Payable function. Review operations on an ongoing basis to ensure controls and records are adequate and appropriate.
  • Leading the Accounts Payable function includes responsibilities for performance management, recruitment, and skills management.
  • Assisting with escalated queries from suppliers and year end audit requests
  • Providing management reporting as required

Key Capabilities:

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • A self-starter with accounts payable experience.
  • Solid understanding of bank reconciliations and accounts payable principles.
  • Has experience in dealing with foreign exchange payments.
  • Demonstrate an attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills, in particular the ability to draw logical conclusions from a range of diverse source materials and present them in a clear and engaging way.
  • Demonstrate the desire to challenge processes and make changes.
  • Experience of developing and improving systems processes and controls
  • Well organised and can work under pressure
  • Passionate about ensuring that work is completed to a high quality standard.
  • Collaborative and supportive with the team and colleagues across the organization, while still being able to work independently when needed.
  • The gravitas and relationship skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Workday experience is a plus but not essential
