Our client, a leading Canadian institutional investor is looking to hire an Investment Analyst within their Infrastructure Investment team in London

We are currently assisting one of Canada’s largest and most diversified institutional investment fund managers, with an investment portfolio of approximately CAN$119 billion (£70 billion). Our client manages an investment portfolio for 31 clients consisting of public sector pensions, endowments and government funds. They are a sophisticated investor and are committed to the highest standards of intellectual rigour, discipline, integrity, performance and governance.

The portfolio is diversified by asset class, with investments in listed equities, fixed income and illiquid investments, which includes real estate, infrastructure and renewable resources, private equity and debt. They employ over 500 professionals across their Canadian and European offices.

Our client’s infrastructure group acquires and manages long-term equity positions in OECD infrastructure assets that have long term stable returns, minimal substitution risk and are either regulated or have highly contracted revenues with potential for long-term capital appreciation. These include utilities, power (generation, transmission, distribution), pipelines, communications infrastructure and toll roads, airports and ports. The group primarily makes direct investments in infrastructure but will also selectively consider externally managed funds.

The current infrastructure portfolio of around CAN$11bn (£6.4bn) includes large investments in Europe, as well as significant transportation and energy businesses across North and South America, and Australasia. The group is committed to significant growth in its infrastructure over the next several years.

Our client opened its London office in 2014 which has grown many folds since then. The infrastructure team in the London office is focused on investments in Europe and select geographies in Asia.
