You will make an impact through exercising the fund's ownership rights and engaging with companies to protect our investments. You will also support portfolio managers with company research and governance expertise, and contribute to company meetings.

Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results oriented professional for the position of Analyst in the Governance Group, within our Corporate Governance Area. The Governance Group is responsible for managing our responsibilities and exercising our rights as an owner in over 9,000 companies. The Group develops principles for the fund's proxy voting, engages with portfolio companies and votes all the fund's shares. The Group also supports academic research on corporate governance and contributes to the development of market standards.

The position is located in London and will report to the Head of Governance in the Corporate Governance Area. Some travel will be required.

The role

As an Analyst in the Governance group you will to contribute to the fund's active ownership of its more than 9,000 portfolio companies in 71 markets. You will build up in depth knowledge through research and coverage of companies. You will make an impact through exercising the fund's ownership rights and engaging with companies to protect our investments. You will also support portfolio managers with company research and governance expertise, and contribute to company meetings.

You will work alongside talented colleagues, both in the Sustainability Group, but also in the investment teams more broadly, and benefit from their global industry knowledge and market experience. Daily tasks will include

  • Performing fundamental research on company boards and governance
  • Monitoring portfolio companies for governance quality and incidents
  • Applying the fund's custom guidelines to the agenda of general meetings
  • Contributing to company meetings with portfolio manager
  • Executing proxy votes through external vendor
  • Analysing voting data and reporting regularly to management
