We are looking for an Analyst / Junior Associate to join our Equity Capital Markets and Equity Syndicate teams in London.

The Equity Syndicate desk sits between and works closely with i) Investment Banking (IB) & Equity Capital Markets (ECM) teams and ii) Cash Equity platform.

The IB / ECM groups work closely with public and private companies, governments and financial sponsors to originate, structure and execute ECM transactions such as initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, rights issues and derivatives across EMEA.

Working on the syndicate desk is being part of all the critical steps in the origination and execution of primary transactions. Equity Syndicate is responsible for marketing, pricing and allocation of all EMEA primary offerings and plays a critical role in co-ordination with Research, Sales and Trading. It is a relatively small, collegiate team that works with all stakeholders / departments involved across the Equity chain (Coverage, Sector teams / M&A, ECM, Legal, Research, Sales / Spec Sales, Trading…).

You will contribute to this process in a multitude of ways, by liaising with several teams, maintaining investors databases, understanding equity market trends and flows, with the ultimate objective of delivering best in class execution and advisory for our clients.

You will be based in Exane BNPP London offices (1 Hanover Street) where sits the Equity platform and you will be reporting into the Head of Equity Syndicate.

Basic Qualification

  • Candidate must have completed an undergraduate degree;
  • Current or past first experience as an investment banking analyst / graduate / trainee (M&A, ECM, Equity Syndicate) or related financial position would be a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong presentation / communication skills with ability to effectively interact with groups across divisions (e.g. traders, sales, bankers);
  • Fundamental interest in the equity markets;
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills;
  • Drive and enthusiasm with a team orientation.
  • Fluent in French would be a plus
