Are you an Anti-Bribery, Corruption and Sanctions Counsel looking for a business aligned position working in partnership with our dynamic and stimulating principal investing business?

We are looking for an experienced Anti-bribery and Corruption, and Sanctions (ABC&S) expert to lead our EMEA program, based in our London office. The Global Macquarie Capital ABC&S team is embedded within the Macquarie Capital business and manages ABC&S risk across our principal investment (private equity) portfolio. Companies within our portfolio span a wide range of industries including green energy, infrastructure, healthcare, technology and more, making this a diverse and challenging role.

Partnering with our EMEA deal teams and nominee asset directors, you will have the opportunity to engage in due diligence on potential investments, design and enhance ABC&S procedures and training programmes, and drive risk assessment, monitoring, and assurance initiatives. As part of a global team, you will also have the opportunity to assist in global and other regional initiatives.

The role requires expertise and thought leadership in critical areas of compliance including anti-bribery and corruption, economic and trade sanctions, third party management, training and awareness campaigns and executive engagement. You may also be asked to provide assistance in areas including whistleblowing and anti-money laundering, rendering relevant experience an advantage.

To be successful in this role you will likely be a qualified solicitor with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience, gained in private practice or as in-house counsel, with a particular focus on financial crime including the UK Bribery Act. You will also demonstrate strong analytical skills and sound judgment along with excellent communication and influencing skills.
