Reporting to the UK Financial Controller, based in London and working in the financial accounting team of four, the main purpose of the role is to perform the revenue recognition accounting, alongside other financial month-end processes.



  • Monthly project revenue recognition, accounting and reconciling
  • Monthly control and reconciliation of Unbilled Revenue, along with ageing analysis
  • Monthly general ledger postings & control over:
  • Deferred revenue and bad debt provisions
  • Client discounts and investment funds
  • Control accounts including accounts receivable and payable
  • Adhoc reclasses when required
  • Financial control including analytical review and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with queries from the offshore Accounts Payable and Expense processing teams
  • Provide guidance and assistance on queries from the nearshore Accounts Receivable team
  • Support internal and external auditors in completing audit review, including regulatory auditors
  • Taking a proactive role in questioning processes in place with a view to continuous improvement
  • Be involved in ad-hoc tasks and projects in areas which influence the financial accounting operations
  • Ensure cooperation with team members of the Finance function by an adequate involvement, communication and escalation of issues
  • Fortnightly cash flow forecasts

Technical Requirements

  • Part Qualified (ACCA, ACA, AAT) or Qualified by experience with core accounting knowledge in a Professional Services, Tech or Consulting environment
  • Sound double entry and financial accounting knowledge
  • Experience of accounting with emphasis on revenue for T&M and Fixed Priced projects
  • Strong Excel including functions such as vlookup and pivot tables
  • Good computer skills
  • Experience of accounts payable and expense claim processes
