We are looking for an Associate to join our Principal Investments team in the UK. The team is the on-balance sheet investing arm of Investec that invests in private companies, backing entrepreneurs and management teams to grow their businesses. We strive to be flexible and nimble, whilst keeping a keen focus on the risk // reward continuum.
What you'll do
You will have the opportunity to work across all aspects of the portfolio. This broad role will allow you to be involved in the assessment of new investments, deal execution and the ongoing management and monitoring of investments within the portfolio, including internal reporting. You will gain exposure to diverse businesses, in terms of geography, sector and risk. It's a hands on role where no two days are the same.
About you
- Demonstrable experience in investment banking with strong finance ability, including modelling;
- Ability to form views around value;
- Excellent communication skills;
- High EQ and commercial acumen, with a proactive, can-do attitude;
- Able to thrive in a small team environment and willing to roll up your sleeves;
- CFA / CA qualified.
