Associate - Special Situations (Infrastructure)
As part of Macquarie Capital in EMEA, our Special Situations team is a key driving force in our strategy and is focused on identifying and executing complex investments across geographies and sectors in the infrastructure and energy space.
Recent transactions include the acquisition of the Green Investment Bank - one of the highest profile deals of the last few years, and the development and financing of the 650 MW Markbygden windfarm in Sweden which was the largest single site onshore windfarm in Europe and led to a number of industry awards including 'Most Innovative Investment Bank for Infrastructure and Project Finance' and 'Global Financial Sponsor Deal of the Year'.
The team has a broad geographic mandate, with a primary focus on EMEA but also leverages the global Macquarie network to identify and execute opportunities in other regions. The team looks across sectors, including transport assets, data infrastructure, and renewable energy among others. Leveraging Macquarie Capital's in-house expertise and network to drive insights and create value, the team invests in businesses and assets which present complexity to other investors and uses its flexible balance sheet to invest across the capital structure.
As an Associate in our team, you will be able to combine your analytical skillset with direct principal investing experience. You will be able to originate and underwrite equity and hybrid products and lead complex transactions with direct access to senior investment decision makers. You will lead the valuation of the opportunity, and also review project documentation and due diligence materials to identify potential risks and business value drivers and analyse, optimise, negotiate and execute financial structures for infrastructure transactions.
To be successful in this role, you will be a banker or investment professional with a specific focus on infrastructure in Europe, and have experience in originating and executing transactions. You will possess strong financial analysis/modelling and presentation skills as well as sound commercial judgement and experience in managing/training more junior team members. You will also be fluent in both written and spoken English.
If you have experience of working on greenfield and brownfield infrastructure transactions and have worked in a comparable organisation, we want to hear from you. About Macquarie Capital
