And we continue to invest in our relationship teams and deepen our product expertise to ensure we deliver first class service.

CB Strategy is the internal consulting team for Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. We support the CEO of the division and its senior leadership team in effective decision-making. We also undertake strategy projects that span multiple business units across CB, helping them inform strategic decisions, and we support the Commercial Banking effort in Group-wide initiatives.

The CB Strategy team is currently recruiting an Associate Director.

Job Description

As an Associate Director:

  • You'll be responsible for supporting the inception, definition, design and execution of Commercial Banking strategy projects. Projects typically span several weeks and involve detailed planning, structuring, analysis, write up and presentation;
  • You'll typically run workstreams within large, complex projects or lead smaller projects. We're serious about development, so we'll match your level of responsibility to your experience, and support you to expand your knowledge and skills and live up to your potential.


Project work falls into two broad categories:
  • Supporting the Commercial Bank leadership in setting and articulating strategy and addressing key strategic themes and initiatives
  • Supporting MDs of individual Commercial Banking business units, in both coverage and product areas.


Working in the CB Strategy team will provide you with opportunities to work closely with the business to develop ideas across a breadth of topics in the commercial banking space, such as full strategic reviews, digital transformation, fintech partnerships, cross-BU efficiency improvements.

You'll leverage your consulting toolkit, use your analytical skills and improve your specialist industry expertise.

You'll work collaboratively in small teams, sometimes overseeing project analysts. Interaction with and coordination of senior stakeholders is common, as is working with subject matter experts from within the commercial business areas.

You'll have a great opportunity to gain significant senior management exposure, so we'll need you to evidence strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Your role will involve taking personal responsibility for relationships with our partners, so you'll need to engage, build and maintain relationships at all levels to deliver optimum results.

Requirements
  • 4 years of relevant strategy consulting experience
  • Experience in financial services, in particular commercial banking clients and products or transformation / digital projects
  • Experience in structuring and managing projects using best practice frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and associated computer literacy
  • Strong stakeholders' management, including at senior executive levels
