As the Associate Director for Europe & America Desk Risk, you will oversee the application of group wide compliance & operational risk policies, frameworks, regulation, and industry standards. In this role, you will provide strategic operational risk & compliance advice to the Europe & America Trading businesses and ensure that their risk profiles are accurate, appropriate, and evidence-based. This role will also support the Head of Markets of Europe & America in delivering effective change to a new operation model where ownership & management of business risks align with industry and regulation expectations around senior management regime, front office supervision and conduct risk. This role will also exercise leadership over a highly skilled and engaged Desk Risk Management team and acts as the trusted advisor on matters of product, suitability, local regulatory practice, and operational risk & compliance. As a valued member of the team, you will also contribute to fostering a strong collaborative culture and positive team dynamics consistent with the Bank's Values.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following –
- Proven experience in Financial Markets and relevant environments
- Strong experience and knowledge of governance, compliance, regulation, and operational risk management
- Demonstrated understanding of Markets products, sales and trading
- Demonstrated leadership competencies and the ability to manage and deliver change
- Ability to support change and identify opportunities for improvement
- Team orientation and the ability to manage. Coach and mentor team members
