Your job
The Commercial Banking / International Desk aims to deliver high quality products and services in a number of European countries through an integrated infrastructure. In order to achieve this, the Consultant Transaction Banking is overall responsible for the sales, implementation and innovation of all Transaction Banking (Cash Management & Trade Finance) products and services. To ensure we win deals with our most valued clients when value, solution, relationship and trust is the determining factor. To make our clients value us at what we are good at, and not be deterred by the gaps in our product offering.
Client Coverage

  • Main focus is on customers linked to the CB and C&IB client units in the Netherlands as well as to the top-tier customers of Asset Based Finance UK.
  • Act as the International Desk ambassador towards all CB and C&IB units operating in the U, be able to create and maintain a network of local contacts within the business services industry (e.g. legal/tax advisors, accountants, consulates, etc.).
  • Act as a non-operational contact for clients and colleagues both within and outside the business line for day-to-day business, within the set guidelines and authorities.
  • Attend regular meetings with clients.
  • Identify opportunities for selling products/services (including Markets and ABF) and establish contact between clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure complaints are handled properly in close cooperation with the Client Services teams.
  • Inform and advise Global Relationship Managers (GRMs) on matters of importance; Collect information in order to provide preparatory and commercial support to GRMs in general client contact, credit and acquisition duties.
  • Collect and analyse data regarding strategy, market developments and financial performances of (potential) clients.
  • Ensure that the right information is available for document management, enabling data to be processed in the bank's administrative systems.
  • Prepare, send and archive correspondence with clients and maintain a central calendar; establish and update commercial files.
  • Contact clients in the event of a problem with approval with a view of resolving the matter within the relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Assisting in the development of new processes within the department.
  • Coordinate the credit application process, as well as annual reviews.
  • Closely work with all relevant internal support function in order to guarantee a smooth and seamless credit facility implementation.
  • Discuss with customers their long & short term funding (financing) requirements.
  • Review and improve the local credit application processes, procedures and facility documentation on an annual basis..
Our business lines are supported by a number of functions such as Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT, Finance (Including Tax), Business Management and Human Resources. We currently employ approx. 400 individuals in the UK.

Your profile
  • A good academic record. Educated to University Level standard or equivalent
  • Background in Business & Finance
  • Credit (risk) Management experience
  • Knowledge of the UK banking environment is a must
  • Worked in similar roles within (international) financial institutions
  • To be a good communicator with senior - solid banking (product & services) and credit skills
  • Excellent track record with client facing roles with focus on building relationships
  • An international outlook/experience
  • Applicable certifications
