MML Capital Partners is seeking an Associate to join its London based private equity investment team. The Associate will work closely with the other members of a small team supporting the senior investors and gain a wide variety of deal experience in a short period of time. MML is a long established and leading mid market private equity fund with a particular focus on growth capital and minority investing. The firm has offices in London, New York and Paris and many of its investments have an international growth strategy.

MML is currently investing Fund VI, a €438m fund raised in 2015. The Associate will support the five other members of the London based deal team across all areas of their roles.  More specifically the Associate role will encompass:

Assessment of new opportunities:

  • Desktop and primary research to gather information on target companies
  • Analysis of Information Memoranda and due diligence materials
  • Valuation comparators
  • Financial modelling and deal structuring
  • Drafting offer letters
  • Deal team pipeline management
  • Preparing presentation materials

Execution of new investments:

  • Attending meetings with management teams and advisers
  • Scoping and analysing due diligence
  • Process and project management of deal execution
  • Financial modelling and sensitivity analysis
  • Preparing sections of investment papers


  • Deal execution work per above for follow on investments
  • Collating reporting information from portfolio companies (ie. monitoring KPI’s, valuations, exit modelling)
  • Preparing LP investor presentations

Candidate Profile:

The candidate will have associate/manager level experience in either accounting, boutique investment banking or strategy consulting.  Particular requirements are:

  • Strong excel and financial modelling skills
  • Good understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cashflows and financial KPI’s
  • Commercial judgement
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a tight knit team
  • Self-motivated, hard working and resilient
  • Fluent French would be an advantage but is not essential
