We are looking to expand our team of focused, aspirational and collaborative insurance practitioners, and as such we are offering the opportunity to join as an Assistant Manager in our Insurance Audit and Assurance Group to support this challenging and rapidly expanding business.

Role description
We are looking to expand our team of focused, aspirational and collaborative insurance practitioners, and as such we are offering the opportunity to join as an Assistant Manager in our Insurance Audit and Assurance Group to support this challenging and rapidly expanding business.

Location
You will be based in a Deloitte London office, however there will be a requirement for travel (possibly internationally), depending on the location of our clients. We specify full mobility for our audit roles but we make arrangements respectfully.

Hours
This is a permanent role. We do encourage careful consideration of agile ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients. Responsibilities
As a member of our team, reporting to a Manager, Senior Manager or Director/ Partner, you will:

• Field manage audit engagements, including management of client relationships;
• Plan and deliver a range of audit and assurance services;
• Supervise teams to successfully execute engagements;
• Drive our continuous improvement in audit methodology;
• Participate in business development campaigns and responses to tenders from new and existing clients; and
• Participate in practice management activities, including facilitation of internal training courses and staff development.

Requirements

• A relevant accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent);
• Experience performing external audits and assurance engagements in financial services, preferably the insurance sector;
• Knowledge of auditing techniques including risk assessment, scoping, devising an audit approach, controls testing and substantive testing;
• Experience field managing audit engagements and audit teams;
• A collaborative approach and be a good team player;
• Report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including ability to engage at all levels; and
• An enquiring / analytical mind and ability to use initiative, adapt and solve problems.
