A highly successful global financial services group, with offices based in the heart of the City, has a newly-created opportunity for an experienced candidate with in-depth knowledge of the front-to-back processes concerning the CASS rules. This role sits within the Finance, Governance & Projects team and operates in an oversight capacity.

The Role:

  • Making sure that all CASS-related policies, procedures are both up-to-date in accordance with CASS rules
  • Perform annual due diligence exercises on all banking, custodian and third party outsourcing counterparties
  • Developing and strengthening CASS-related systems and risk & controls framework to improve accuracy, compliance and to reduce the incidence of errors and breaches
  • You will be the main point of contact for the business' external and internal auditors
  • Continually educating yourself on forthcoming rule changes and FCA policy changes that impact CASS requirements, communicating important events to senior management
  • The production of accurate MI on CASS-related matters for use by senior management and the Board
  • Treasury management of client funds in relation to diversification and credit risk, in conjunction with the group treasury function
  • Provide support and guidance for assessing impact on CASS for any new business initiatives

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Degree or professional qualification in business, accounting, finance, risk or compliance related fields or equivalent experience
  • Previously held a FCA CF10a CASS Oversight Controlled Function or have sufficient experience and confidence to support the CF10a function.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the CASS rulebook  
  • Knowledge of other relevant regulatory obligations would be beneficial – COREP, FSA001, FSA002 and asset encumbrance
  • Ability to understand and implement complex business requirements into technical solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiating skills, including experience in working with IT teams, Compliance & Risk departments and Finance stakeholders
