Department Profile

The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Firm’s equity Sales & Trading operations provide liquidity, distribute content, and create product solutions to help our clients generate alpha. The Equity Financing Products department acts as a strategic partner to more than 800 top hedge fund managers: executing and clearing trades across asset classes, time zones, and currencies; providing financing and expertise to help manage risk and benefit from technology; and consults to help launch new funds and connect with them potential investors.

Position description:

 The position is in Client and Business Analytics Team in IED Europe.

 The role offers unparalleled opportunities and a unique perspective of the Division.

 The candidate would participate in the execution of the internal Client Relationship Management function for key business issues that directly drive change and influence Morgan Stanley’s client strategic direction and profitability.

 They can also expect to develop strategic thinking and problem-solving skills by working on initiatives and collaborating with other Morgan Stanley colleagues globally.

The Team

 The European Client & Business Analytics Team report into the European COO for Sales & Trading Distribution.

 The team works directly with senior European and Global Morgan Stanley decision-makers and execute strategic client business initiatives to strengthen the firm’s leadership position in global financial services.

Role responsibilities:

 The candidate would work on the full range of projects in which the Group is involved and will have the opportunity to meet, interact with a wide range of people with the Firm.

 Drawing on research, financial analysis, meetings with internal teams, and their own judgment, the candidate would play an integral role in helping the team develop and implement creative analytical solutions to optimize our client business

 Excellent technical skills especially excel

 Strong numeracy and analytical skills

 Curious and motivated to work hard.

 Some product knowledge and a capability and appetite to learn

 Interest in financial markets and client trends

 Strong communicator

 Very organized

 Focus on task completion and follow ups

 Lateral thinker and not afraid to ask questions and look to improve processes

 Confident and able to approach people across the trading floor
