The individual will join the Commercial Department reporting to the Business Development Director to contribute to both day-to-day activities and longer term projects.

Founded in 2009 as the first independent telecom tower company in Africa, Helios Towers (HT) has been built from the ground up to provide passive infrastructure services in the fastest growing continent in the world. Seven of the world's ten fastest-growing economies are African.

The company is backed by prominent private equity investors including Soros Fund Management, Helios Investment Partners, Rothschild Investment Trust, Albright Capital management and the IFC (World Bank) who have provided over 1.5 billion of capital to date to acquire asset portfolios and build new sites. In April 2017, HT raised a $600m debut bond on the financial markets.

The company has expanded dramatically via both sale-and-lease-back acquisitions and organic growth and now owns over 6,500 telecommunications towers across Ghana, Congo, the DRC and Tanzania.

The candidate will initially work in the London office within the Commercial Department which is in charge of business analysis, M&A, commercial strategy and marketing for the Group.

The Opportunity
The Commercial Analyst will be involved in a diverse range of activities such as contract negotiation, customer relationship management, driving of sales opportunities, approval of new capital projects, due diligence on assets, evaluation of acquisition and business development opportunities. Responsibilities will include general research, data processing, business analysis, financial modelling, review of transaction documentation and commercial contracts, drafting internal notes and customer presentations.

Candidate Profile
This role is suited to an individual who, after a first successful experience in consulting or finance, is looking to start a next step of their career in the infrastructure sector in some of the most promising emerging economies. The candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to apply both analytical and soft skills in a fast-paced environment and progressively benefit from increased exposure to experienced professionals in the areas of finance, sales, legal and operations.
You should be a recent graduate from a top tier university, with either of the following backgrounds: Engineering, Finance, Law or other relevant science field.
 

FACTOR ESSENTIAL (E) OR DESIRABLE (D)

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors (E) or Master’s (D) degree from a reputable university.


EXPERIENCE

At least 12 months (E) of relevant full-time work experience (including internships).

Relevant experience include: corporate finance (M&A advisory or in-house), banking (leverage finance, equity research), strategy consulting, project finance, corporate planning and strategy, private equity investment. A combination of the above with law (law firm or legal department of corporate) experience would be welcome.

Advanced level in mathematics, engineering or other scientific subject (E)
