Commercial Banking Relationship Director, Leading Bank, London

My client, a leading bank are looking for a Relationship Director to join their growing commercial banking team in London to grow a portfolio of SME clients.

The Role:

To identify customers’ business needs and present a range of solutions that the Bank can provide, including banking services and financing

To actively go out and prospect new business

To market and sell the bank’s products and services to small/medium-sized companies 

To provide an excellent customer experience, and help the businesses grow and prosper 

To achieve consistent growing profitability and a strong balance sheet. 

Adherence to the banks risk policies 

To grow market share by developing new customer relationships

Support and host local community events

Carry out periodic credit reviews on all existing customers

Help develop the profile of the banks brand

Help develop junior Relationship Managers in the team


Experience required:

Experience working as a Relationship Manager or Director for another Commercial Bank

A minimum of 3 years experience in lending to companies with a turnover greater than £500k at an absolute minimum

Personal leadership: be accountable and take responsibility for actions

Ability to prioritise work load

Strong communication skills

Able to work independently as well as part of a team

Strong credit skills

Excellent business and product knowledge

Results orientated

Strong business development skills

Good understanding of risk management and control
