Commercial Contract Manager - 18mth FTC

Working with M&GPrudential as a Commercial Contract Manager means becoming part of a brand with a global reputation and an exciting vision: to become the best loved and most successful savings & investments business.

The forthcoming planned de-merger of M&GPrudential from the Prudential Group PLC provides a terrific opportunity to create a truly international and integrated savings and investments firm. A firm built on a rich and long history and with a commitment to an innovative future centred on the needs of customers and clients. There is a genuine opportunity to drive competitive advantage with value creation through the formation of this new organisation.

If you're inspired to join us, and have the necessary qualities, then this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

The Role:

We are looking for a Commercial Contract Manager to join us on an 18mth Fixed Term Contract in our Reading or London office

M&GPrudential outsources two thirds of its operational business and key parts of our IT delivery to strategic suppliers and therefore must ensure the successful commercial management of these relationships. Due to the size and complexity of these contracts, dedicated senior management is required. The Commercial Contract Manager will lead a small team which manages the day to day commercial aspects of one of Prudential's major contracts, including the limitation of financial risks to the business and the realisation of benefits.

As a Commercial Contract Manager you will be responsible for maintaining appropriate contractual controls, as well as ensuring that M&GPrudential is receiving value for money while maintaining the integrity of services at all times. You will act as an adviser to the business, helping them to understand the commercial implications of any actions or decisions, and identifying the levers that are available to use in order to maximise benefits and achieve the best outcome for M&GPrudential.

You will be expected to know and understand the provisions of the relevant contract, to be able to challenge and influence in order to get the best value for money for M&GPrudential whilst protecting it interests within the constraints of the contract.

In this role you will primarily be providing Commercial management on the upcoming Rothesay Life Contract where M&GPrudential will be the supplier, transferring a large number of annuity policies to Rothesay Life, a UK-based annuities specialist.

To succeed in this role you will have knowledge and experience in the following:
  • Working with business process outsourcing contracts/relationships
  • Working in a commercial environment and understanding the broad operating context
  • Understanding of financial risk and liability, including the commercial risks associated with supply chain
  • Excellent financial management skills
  • Good written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to communicate to a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Working knowledge of industry best practice, good network/links with external bodies and individuals in the same field
  • Contract law
  • Delivering in ambiguous environments
  • MCIPS qualified (desirable)
People who work at M&GPrudential agree that ours is a great place to work with a brilliant team spirit. It's also an innovative, high-performing, commercial environment that's totally focused on customers. As an M&GPrudential colleague you'll get all the support you'd expect, including full training and professional development. You'll receive a competitive salary and reward package. And in a fast-changing world, you'll join an organisation that's leading the way in helping customers achieve their long-term financial goals.

M&GPrudential is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our role as an employer is very simple - to provide the right environment for talented people to do their best work, by respecting, understanding and valuing individual differences.

We welcome applications from individuals who have taken an extended career break, and we are willing to consider flexible working arrangements for all of our roles.
