Our Risk and Compliance function are currently looking for a permanent Compliance Advisory Manager to focus on providing assistance, advice and guidance to Aviva Investors (AI) business areas on all regulatory matters, with the exception of financial crime, but with a particular focus on Real Estate and other alternative asset classes.

Our Risk and Compliance function are currently looking for a permanent Compliance Advisory Manager to focus on providing assistance, advice and guidance to Aviva Investors (AI) business areas on all regulatory matters, with the exception of financial crime, but with a particular focus on Real Estate and other alternative asset classes.

The Role

You will be supporting the following AI businesses across the UK and Europe:

  • Multi-asset
  • Real Estate (direct & indirect)
  • Global Investment Solutions, including real estate finance, private credit, LDI, infrastructure debt and equity.

Responsibilities (General)

  • Supporting the Compliance Advisory team in providing the business with compliance expertise, advice and guidance on all regulatory matters (excluding financial crime).
  • Provide regulatory guidance to AIGSL branches.
  • Advising on the implementation of regulatory change (working with the Mandatory Change and Regulatory Development and Transformation teams).
  • Provide guidance and support on the implementation and/or enhancements of procedures and controls as necessary.
  • Responsible for ad hoc compliance and regulatory projects as they arise.
  • Support the EMEA Head & Global Compliance colleagues on global business initiatives and projects as directed.
  • Support the wider Compliance Advisory team on all matters as and when they arise.

Responsibilities (Real Estate & Alternatives)

  • Support the business in its management and mitigation of reputational and regulatory risk.
  • Provide advice and support to AI's portfolio management teams on standards of market conduct and conflicts of interest.
  • Advise on other regulatory rules & requirements relating to the management of investments.
  • Ensure that services provided to AI funds meet regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to UCITS and AIFMD.
  • Provide Compliance support to the product governance process, including new fund launches.
  • Provide due diligence support to the investment process where required.
  • Attendance at key governance forums for the Real Estate and Global Investment Solutions businesses.
  • Assist with the provision of directed training on key regulatory themes and upcoming changes to policies and procedures.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Graduate or equivalent level of industry and technical experience.
  • Experience within the financial services sector.
  • Proven experience of providing advice within an asset management organisation, law firm or consultancy practice.
  • Working knowledge of front office systems & controls.
  • Proven experience of regulatory issues affecting the asset management industry.
  • Excellent in-depth technical knowledge of the regulatory framework for asset management products, particularly in relation to UCITS/AIFs.
  • Demonstrable experience of interpreting regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of EU and UK legislative and regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator.

Desirable:

  • Legal or accounting qualification.
  • Experience of real estate, private credit and other illiquid assets.
