Role

You will be the copy editor for Investment Marketing (IM) content, predominantly aimed at investment professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • To edit all copy from the Investment Marketing (IM) team (client reporting, ad hoc financial promotions, client presentations, online material, and responses to client/sales queries).
  • Act as a business approver of financial promotional material for investment professionals produced by Marketing; ensure that all material has the appropriate risk warnings and disclaimers or any other regulatory requirements and follows internal guidance from Compliance.
  • To maintain M&G's editorial standards by reviewing content to ensure quality in terms of:
    ~ Soundness of copy (ensuring copy is well written, clear, fair and not misleading)
    ~ Factual and numerical accuracy (verifying against relevant supporting material)
  • To maintain consistency of style, tone and grammar throughout all written communication, confirming that they resonate with the audience (whether for retail or professional clients)
  • To be able to rewrite copy to ensure 'plain English' where necessary
  • To provide support to the investment messaging consistency process in place for the wider team
  • Maintain database content owned by IM
  • Maintain Fund Questionnaires

What we are looking for...

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Thorough understanding of editorial process
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets generally, investment products and asset management industry, in particular
  • Ideally, experience as a supervisory editor
  • Knowledge of FCA financial promotion requirements
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong working knowledge of different types of customer communications and marketing materials
  • Experience of working with different teams and under tight deadlines
