Our Client, an established International Commodity Trading House are currently seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator for the Metals Desks. Working within the Legal Team and interfacing with the Metal Trading Desks and trade assistants, responsible for creating trade contracts across various metals desks, reviewing and amending standard/template trade contracts from Trading Desk and trade assistants, liaising with the Trading Desk, Operations and Shipping Departments to ensure that contracts are issued strictly in accordance with the Traders Booking Forms and are commercially workable. Liaising with Buyer’s and Suppliers and assisting in negotiating outstanding issues. Ensuring internal contract registers are correctly updated.

 

Main Responsibilities:
• Drafting both Purchase and Sale contracts strictly in accordance with the Booking Forms provided by the Trading Desk;
• Reviewing, checking Trade Contracts ahead of sending for execution and ensuring Trade Contracts conform with and incorporate trade Confirm terms;
• Reviewing and ensuring correct General Terms & Conditions (buy/sell/relevant commodity) annexed to trade contracts;
• Liaising with Trading Desk / Shipping / Legal and Operations departments to ensure all terms are workable;
• Raising with Trading Desk any disparities or conflicts between trade Confirm and trade contracts;
• Escalating unresolved issues or disparities to Legal;
• Liaising and negotiating with Buyers / Suppliers / Agents on any disputed terms to ensure they are finalised correctly;
• Liaising with Legal on final issuance of contracts;
• Adapting contracts to meet with new regulations and standardising to the satisfaction of Trading and Legal departments;
• Assisting in drafting / implementing required terms under Offtake Agreements;
• Reviewing and advising relevant departments on contracts issued by counterparts;
• Ensuring the contracts are signed correctly and manging timely execution to meet deadlines;
• Escalating to Legal and where relevant management any unresolved issues and unsigned contracts;
• Sending contracts to the repository for records;
• Ensuring all contracts are correctly entered into the internal Contract Register; updating  performance and /or problems for circulation to wider group;
• Setting up and maintaining files for all contracts.

Key Skills and Experience:
• 4 - 5 years’ experience in reviewing and processing metals trade contracts for execution.
• In-depth experience at established trading house in the metals industry
• Strong work ethos
• Attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
