Investec is looking for someone to join the Control role function, on a contract based. We are looking for someone with a can do attitude and someone who has proven experience in a control room capacity
Description of role and key responsibilities:
To ensure effective gathering of information to make regulatory holding and dealing disclosures and analysis.
To manage the conflict of interest system and assist with the identification and management of conflicts.
To monitor and authorise personal account dealing.
To assist with the set up and management of Insider lists.
To undertake research review and approval.
To produce risk based Management Information to senior management.
To report control room risks to the Head of Control Room.
Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory)
Coaching & Assessment (compulsory for Line Managers and other Supervisors)
To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory)
Core Skills and Knowledge:
Technical knowledge & Experience
Minimum of 3 years financial services experience required.
Ideally have Compliance (preferably Control Room) experience
Ideally would have knowledge of relevant regulations including Takeover Panel, FSA Disclosure Rules, Exchange rules.
Sound understanding of Investment Banking terms and products required.
Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role:
Good time management skills.
Ability to prioritize a number of different requests.
Multi-tasking and ability to manage a number of requests or priorities simultaneously.
Natural team player, comfortable working closely in a team environment
Natural investigative skills, sorting through apparently unrelated data and making connections
Strong interpersonal skills used when communicating with the business and other members of the Compliance team.
Skills and how they are applied
Analytical skills in relation to following and understanding deal structures, processes or business system and their compliance with relevant regulations.
Ability to adapt to different requests.
