The C&IS Technology Department is looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, nimble, and pragmatic individual with a digital mind-set to join our team as a DataStage expert with Oracle DBA experience.

What You Will Do:
As a DataStage engineer with strong knowledge of Oracle DB environments, you will design and build solutions to move data from operational and external environments to the business intelligence environment using DataStage.
Additional responsibilities will include:

• Building, configuring and managing the DataStage application architecture for NT's DTM DataMart (Oracle), including configuration and maintenance of all jobs, scheduling & enhancement requests.
• Liaising closely with NT DataStage Admin/Engineering teams to ensure Tech Standards are maintained.
• Demonstrating automated & repeatable deployments, supplemented with technical documentation, e.g. generation of technical Implementation Guides, etc.
• Undertaking BAU DataStage support operations for the NT DataStage application architecture DTM (including platform tuning and support for Prod & UAT)
• Performing Unit Testing of DataStage dev efforts, and participate in project System/Integration/UAT testing cycles
• Performing code fixing and code deployment through different cycles of testing

The ideal candidate should possess a fair amount of the following qualities:
• Proven experience with Advanced ETL using DataStage
• Strong ETL performance tuning skills. The ability to quickly and efficiently analyze and resolve performance issues within variety of operational environments
• Strong understanding of Data warehousing design concepts/skills
• Proven experience with data modelling for data warehouse 3NF & DataMart - star schema
• Strong SQL skills including complex query building and query performance tuning
• Knowledge of Batch Data Movement - ETL (DataStage experience is preferred)
• Knowledge of Traditional Relational Databases
• Data analysis skills - ability to dig in and understand complex models and business processes
• Strong UNIX shell scripting skills
• ETL-related Python coding skills
• Proven experience in working directly with business customers
• Demonstrated ability to understand Oracle schemas and LDM/PDMs, and design/build DataStage jobs to meet requirements
• Demonstrated ability to write complex SQL queries to support trouble-shooting of ETL jobs across Oracle schemas
• Proven data migration & extraction experience, including appreciation of data governance & quality controls
• Proven performance & tuning experience with DataStage set-up and config (with various data load scenarios)
• Strong communicator & focus on documentation for continuous improvement, e.g. repeatable and automated deployment processes
• Ability to work with Global teams (mainly London/Dublin-based, however some Dev teams are in India time zone & NT DataStage admin teams in Chicago time zone)
