Morgan Stanley’s Finance Technology team is looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Lead / Architect to join their well-established team.

Finance Technology

Finance Technology provides innovative solutions for regulatory and financial reporting, general ledger, profit & loss calculations, securities bookkeeping, budgeting & forecasting, and tax filing. The group leverages a state-of-the-art multi-terabyte financial data warehouse as one of its main assets to service the Firm’s Finance division.

Role Profile:

  • European lead for Finance Technology data warehouse team.
  • Definition of data container strategy & target architecture for Finance Technology, working with global head, Finance technical architect and other leads across Finance Technology.
  • Planning & execution of data container strategy & target architecture alongside other data warehouse leads.
  • Ongoing review of ETL, update and reporting processes to recommend & implement best practice.
  • Ongoing review of SDLC and integration with wider project delivery to recommend & implement best practice.
  • Regional coverage for production incidents and follow ups.


Required skills:

  • Expert software engineer background with strong skills in data modelling & design, data warehouse systems and high availability databases (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Hadoop, Vertica).
  • Strong architectural, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong line management, project delivery and planning skills, with the experience of building teams.
  • Good collaborator with proven ability to work constructively across teams.
  • Adept at understanding complex concepts and communicating them to diverse teams.
  • Strong written and oral communicator with good presentation skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully implementing data warehouse solutions in an Agile / Dev Ops software delivery lifecycle.
  • Good functional understanding of Finance, Risk and Treasury across the Financial Services domain, particularly Investment Banking and Wealth management.
  • Degree or Masters qualified in a technology, mathematical, science or engineering domain.
