Out client a Tier-1 investment bank, operating in over 30 countries around the globe with ambitious expansions planned, is currently recurring for a Data governance manager to join them on a permanent basis in there London office. Au successful candidate will be joining there Client Data Services team which is a strategic partner to the Chief Data Office (CDO) and Chief Information Office (CIO) in developing reference data across many data classes, with the ambition to adopt this across the enterprise.

Au successful candidate will be joining there Client Data Services team which is a strategic partner to the Chief Data Office (CDO) and Chief Information Office (CIO) in developing reference data across many data classes, with the ambition to adopt this across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate will be either

  • Strong Data governance manager
  • Data architect with a strong data governance background (implementing governance)

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the implementation of Data Policies across CDS, specifically in deploying the Group Data Governance Policy across CDS teams and platforms
  • Running the process for agreeing definition, ownership and data quality requirements for new Data Elements eg. ensuring engagement of all data consumers in the definition of data content and data quality requirements to ensure reference data is fit for purpose for all consumers
  • Ensuring that Data Contracts are in place with data consumers of CDS owned/stewarded data
  • Ensuring that Data under governance is maintained in enterprise tools, specifically Enterprise Glossaries and governance tooling provided by CDO / CIO Data
  • Supporting the development of models to identify Critical Data Elements (CDE) for ratification by Group Data Committee together with the measuring and monitoring of CDE’s to provide transparency to decision making bodies for remedial actions
  • Supporting CDS Run the Bank (RTB) teams to establish prioritisation parameters for remediation data quality issues
  • Supporting CDS Transformation teams to determine and bring under governance new data elements
  • Running the process for agreeing data change outside of RTB activities
  • Effectively communicates across the CDS organisation, and with Business and Infrastructure partners to successfully embed reference data within business changes
  • Serving as an advisor for Data Consumers relating to CDS managed reference data across Finance, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, Risk, Operations, Information Technology (IT) and Trading
  • Representing the interests of the CDS Data Management function across the broader Change Portfolio
  • Participating in Industry Working Groups aligned to Reference Data Management and Regulation to keep abreast of Best Practices and tooling e.g. Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Council and JWG

 

Skills

  • Previous experience in EDM roles within the global finance industry
  • Previous experience of Data Governance, specifically managing data content and content change on enterprise wide platforms
  • Proven experience of data architecture, standardisation of global data management and control processes
  • Subject matter expertise for reference data domains with a priority for client/party data
  • Breadth of knowledge of the data components underpinning client related activities especially in the Anti-Money Laundering (AML)  / Know Your Client (KYC) and regulatory space (beneficial)
  • Experience of trade processing, finance and risk dependencies on enterprise data highly desired
  • Previous experience in effectively communicating with and positively influencing diverse stakeholders and team members
  • A proven track record of working across all geographies and multiple business units of the Bank
  • A collaborative style, working in virtual and physical teams across multiple functions and business units
